MacIntosh
From Away
Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art
Kelowna, BC
In this exhibit, drawings and images of plants found near the artist’s home in Summerland are incorporated into artworks that consider the effects of migration and our attitudes around it. The plants depicted may be thought of as invasive, foreign or harmful, yet they also display beauty and vigor in this environment. As a recent arrival in the Okanagan herself, MacIntosh continues to reflect on liminal space and time as well as questioning our cultural, personal and spiritual ideas of home and community.
